Planning and pre-planning are crucial when looking to remodel or install cabinets in a kitchen or bathroom. Rather than skip directly to purchasing cabinets for your home, we encourage our customers to look through our Design Planner. Remodeling and renovating is fun and exciting but the detailed work in pre-construction planning will save you both time and money.
There are many different steps in the pre-construction process. We are here to get you on the right path toward the kitchen or bathroom of your dreams. In order to do that, we have provided our handy Design Planner available for download. Inside is a step-by-step guide to everything you need to start pre-construction. Remember, if you need any assistance on pre-construction, floor plans or other cabinetry advice be sure to call us at 800-931-7594.
There are three levels of design and planning in most construction projects:
- Schematic - a quick sketch that shows the arrangement of rooms or elements within a room. For example, showing placement of appliances in a kitchen or plumbing in a bathroom.
- Design Development - a more detailed floor plan than a schematic. This will show the locations of every door and window within the room. For help, please refer to our Design Planner.
- Construction Documents - this is the most detailed of plans. Also known as "blueprints", these will show exact thickness of every window and door as well as all the necessary information needed to build and place cabinets.
Although planning and pre-construction is full of decision-making and detailed sketches, it will save time and money in the long run. We know it can be overwhelming, which is why you can contact one of our representatives to help you or even come up with a design for your kitchen or bathroom! Remember, we are here to help every step of the way when it comes to planning, designing and constructing. We will work with you to ensure you get the kitchen of bathroom of your dreams.
